That's where the deer headed as you can see from the blood pool. This is an obvious route as gut hit deer almost always head downhill and into the thickest area possible. You find the blood trail but it's just small drops every 15-20 yards - and it's heading downhill further into the thicket. A quick glimpse at your phone and you have 15 mins before the rain starts. One hundred yards into the SW trail you lose the blood. Answer question 6.
