OUTFITTER
We are hunting with Cimarron River Outfitters owned by Kent and Clay Jarnagin. It's pretty tough to get an open slot at CRO but if you do, you will experience one incredible Kansas Bowhunt!

Day 4
November 9th
I went back to the Junkyard this morning. The weather was a bit cooler and it was overcast so we thought it may improve. It didn't. I saw the same spike and 3 does this time. The spike was chesty - I filmed him snort wheezing at nothing. I have never seen a spike snort wheeze before. Not a great sign.
Matt saw very little as well. He hunted the big cottonwood stand and saw a couple of small bucks.
For the afternoon I finally moved on from hunting the ghost, at least for now. I hunted Larry's creek, our furthest south stand. There's a really nice 10 that was here when the deer were still moving so I was hoping to see him tonight. I didn't. It was slow here too. I saw one small 2.5 year old 8 point. No does. Matt's stand was slow as well.
We've been coming here for 22 years and we've never seen anything like this. Last week was slow too for the previous group of guys. But before that? there were bucks everywhere. We're all at a loss. We've got three more days to go. Not looking great, but all it takes is one buck to make a mistake.

Our hunt takes place in South Central Kansas in Comanche County which is down near the Oklahoma Border. The habitat is a mix of prairie, treebelts, river bottoms, and large agricultural fields. Prime Whitetail habitat.
