For the morning hunt I went back to the same stand I sat last evening. As it started to get light and the wind picked up I knew immediately I was in trouble. The wind was blowing out of the east, a strange wind direction and since the deer come from the west it was not going to be a good morning. I was winded by two does and the same small buck from last night. I sat for several hours but those were the only deer seen all day. I was entertained by a squirrel for most of the morning. First time I ever saw a squirrel climb a ladder.
We decided it was time to try something new for this evening. Rob put me on a field edge that had a lot of activity. The stand was terrific and looked out over a giant wheat and alfalfa field. Several deer came by me but they were all does and fawns.

The weather has been quite warm, mostly in the 60's and the bucks have vanished. Just my luck. We have some weather coming in tomorrow so hopefully it will get things moving a bit more.
