While this deer appeared to be hit in the shoulder, it is impossible to know exactly what happened. The deer runs out of site into the thickets. It runs with her tail tucked, panicked, and at full speed. She favored her right side while running and appeared to get wobbly before going out of sight.
Weather: clear but very warm - 75 degrees overnight.
Other Factors - Tons of coyotes in this area. This is the same stand where coyotes ate the ass-end out of a deer within one hour of the shot in broad daylight.
