Jake's Quebec Labrador Caribou Summary
I have hunted Q/L Caribou on many occasions, and I never tire of the adventures that those hunts provide. The migrations are a hit or miss proposition, and you have to adjust your hunting accordingly. My largest bull was taken before I had ever purchased a nice digital camera, but this bull seemed to be a nice representative of the species. I stalked to within 15 yards before taking this animal. Of the antlered animals, when it comes to table fare, I rank moose at the top of the list, followed by elk, and deer and caribou are slugging it out for third place.....it depends on several factors (including how quickly the animal died - minimizing adrenaline in the tissue, proper care of the meat, and whether the animal was taken during the rut).
