Discuss this hunt

This afternoon was extremely HOT and my kids were anxious to enjoy the farm animals at Shiloh. So Julie and I decided that it might be fun to hunt alone with Matt in a Double-Bull Blind. Matt knew an area that was holding some nice big boars so we waited till the sun dipped a bit and set up on the downwind side of a shady road. To say it was hot in there would be an understatement. It was a steamer!

With the blind set up we waited about thirty minutes before the first hogs appeared. They would feed up to the blind but growl and run off before presenting a shot. At first I found it to be amusing. But my amusement wore off....

Despite all the spooked hogs, it was a blast. I could have taken a few shots but passed on them so I could get the video. I couldn't get over how smart these hogs were. This was a lot different hunting than any of my previous hogs. It was more like whitetail hunting on the ground. I have one day left. If it's going to happen, it has to happen tomorrow.

This family hunt is sponsored by these fine companies..
