Friday Morning Hunt

No hunt planned. We fly into Wichita at 11 AM.

Friday Afternoon Hunt

We arrived safely in Wichita and to our great joy, so did our luggage. We burned down Highway 54 to Greensburg before we turned south toward Coldwater and onto Protection. There we met with Kent and Kent at the house and suited up for a quick afternoon hunt. At first I wondered if we had landed in Cancun instead of Kansas. It was 72 Degrees here today with wind gusts to 40mph. I hunted the Silo stand and Greg hunted Larry's Creek. I had two does along with a busted up mature buck show up just at dark. I could see his rack, barely, and his entire left side was snapped off. He looked decent but it was very hard to tell. The heat and high winds did us no favors. Greg's stand was slow too.
