Had a great hunt with Forest, Kelly and their team. Everything was top notch from logistics to food to guides to equipment. I should be posting a trophy photo of a beautiful 6x6, but I messed up the shot and missed my chance. There were 3 of us in camp, I had a shot at a mature bull, the 2nd hunter killed a nice 5x5 on the 2nd afternoon with the 3rd hunter coming close on a good bull late in the hunt but not getting a shot. That says a lot for a public land, OTC archery hunt. Forest and his guides know this unit well and knew where to go to get in the elk. On a backcountry hunt like this, you wouldn't expect such great food, but we had pork chops, chicken, spaghetti, etc. not to mention Kelly's awesome Zucchini bread! Thanks to my guide Tristan for having such a positive and go get 'em attitude. He was always working on ways to get us into the action based on the wind and our hunt results from the previous day. Thank you to Forest, Kelly, Tristan, Ben, Colton, David and Brooke!! I look forward to seeing you all again next September!
