I rate this as one of the best experiences of my life. This was my first trip to Africa and my first fully guided bowhunt. There was one other hunter in camp at the same time as I was there and we both were very happy with the outcome. A wetter than usual spring left us with water in the Matlabas river which is usually dry that time of year. We were also hunting with a full moon which reduces the need for animals to come into the water holes during the day and since this was bowhunting, that's the main technique for getting close to animals. In spite of these obstacles our PHs worked hard to put us in the right spot to get close-in shots.

Our camp hosts and the facilities were all wonderful and first class. I really enjoyed the traditional South Africa meals. The food and company were a highlight of the trip.

To sum it up: great animals, blinds, food and people! I ended up with 4 fantastic African trophies. I certainly hope to return soon.
