My guide made a drastic mistake in insisting that we immediatley follow up a fatially shot bull. I hit the bull as he angled away. The arrow went through the hip, into the gut. I tried to convence him to back out. He went against my will and bumped the bull and then it was 4 days before we could make the recovery. We should have backed out and we would have saved the meat. The outfitter agreed with me as well as the other guide and hunter in camp. The outfitter even offered me to continue hunting which would not have been the norm. I insisted that I knew that I had killed the animal and I only wanted to recover him, even if the meat was spoiled. My guide was instrumental and made great efforts in us finding the bull. I think both guides in camp were excellent guides. Mine just made a mistake. They both knew the area like the back of their hands and they knew how to get us in on bulls even though it was pre-rut. My hunting buddy also killed a nice bull. 100% for two bowhunters in pre-rut is pretty impressive.
None to date. If you are the outfitter please email us.
