I spoke with Gordan several times prior to us going. He stated there were lots of bears this year and they are eating up more bait this year than ever. I express to him that i wanted to use my bow. He said that was find, but failed to communicate that he only had a couple of treestands and that he mainly hunts ground blinds. Also did he express to me that bear have alot fat in the fall and maybe I should use a firearm. This was my first bear, how am I suppose to know. 1 treestand was 34 yards to the bait, the other was next to 95 were you can hear and see the traffic. So i look at 1 ground blind and it had alot of room. Look at another site that had a blind but i figured it was same as the other so i didn't look at. Who would have guessed that he uses two different size blinds. So when i got in it that afternoon, it was too small. could not draw my bow without hitting the back of the blind. I didn't want to inconveance him becuase he was down two trucks so i stayed. Turned for the worse when a trophy once in a life time bear came in and i spooked it drawing my bow. We were hunting close to camp where there was alot of activity. Gravel trucks and loaders working in pits, private trucks running up and down the road. People talking, target practicing etc. It was like hunting a suburban area next to a housing project. My son was hunting another site, so when i asked Gordan to put him on the site where i saw the big bear his response was, " I snuck up on your son today and he was making alot of noise and moving around and i don't want to put him there" So your telling me your seaking around hunters while they are trying to hunt!! Wow that is very professional!! It was one thing another. If someone asked Gordan and his two guides the same question you get three different answers. So it got to a point where we couldn't believe a word he said. I can go on all day with this! Point to it there were 11 hunters and only 1 bear killed!! Bears were being killed all around us. So when i spoke up about things Gordan want to kick out of camp. Again not very professional. We finished our hunt and parted our ways without any reconciliation on Gordans part. I would not recommend this outfitter to anyone. Was not a very good first impression for my son on his first hunt. I hope he can learn from his mistakes and better his Professionism for the future.
