I came back for the second straight year and again couldn't be more satisfied with my hunt. The weather had started to cooperate about the time we arrived but they had a lot of rain the previous months so they had a lot of green grass to deal with this time. Taylor and Bud did their homework and had us set up on the best possible land/water holes when we arrived. The first day I opted for a portable blind and tried spot and stalk. It was a lot of fun and I was able to get within 100-120 yards of a couple of bucks but I think I was a little to excited and likely moved a little to quick....they weren't spooked but moved on but none the less an exciting day. That night Bud came in and told me that I needed to sit in a blind next to a 4" pipe that was dripping water on occasion...to be honest I thought he was nutz. I really didn't want to do this and thought about saying no way BUT Bud and Taylor know goats. I did it thinking they were crazy and I wouldn't see much but couldn't have been more wrong. I had pronghorn on me from about 9am through the rest of my day.. I had a doe bed down right in front of my blind at about 15-20 yards and the fawns kept wandering around the blind. The day flew because I had nothing but action. At 10 am I had the buck directly in front of me at 65 yards and missed my opportunity because when I check the opening to shoot through my arrow cleared the opening(protable blind). The problem was I didn't account for the wind and puffing up the blind and my arrow when through the blind and missed under him by about a foot. I thought my day was over but the does came back withing an hour and the buck made his appearance around 2 pm and managed to shoot a nice buck at 35 yards. Bud and Taylor did a nice job scouting and setting us up on the right water holes. They are constantly picking up more property to hunt and you can't ask for more when archery hunting for any animal. We had a nice treat getting to go prairie dog hunting with bows and guns and I can't tell you how much fun it was to shoot prairie dogs! This was the icing on the cake for me and my hunting buddy Chad. The food again was outstanding. Each night Sandy made us a great meal like roast and mashed potatoes, burgers, sweet corn, meatloaf...OMG she is a good cook. I will be back again and again. I like them enough to bring my 10 yr old son with me next trip and I can't wait till he's old enough to hunt. I trust these guys with him to get the opportunity to take an animal....They are that good. Thank you Bud, Taylor and Sandy for the great trip.
