Graham Brigden runs a first class operation on prime ground with an amazing deer herd. His knowledge and ability as well as his guides are superb. This was my second hunt with a friend for life in Graham and Carla. They treated us like family and the trip was a pleasure in all aspects. The taking of a true trophy was an added bonus to a great time.
Guiding a first class individual like Jonathan Gregory is always a pleasure. This was Jon's second hunt with us and we definitely look forward to his week. The first day of Jon's hunt started off slow but finished with a lot of excitement. We got up in the morning to fog and rain so we couldn't do much for spot & stalking mule deer. After lunch the fog was lifting and the sun began to shine.Well , the deer were up everywhere and feeding. Not long after that we spotted a huge typical that I estimated to be 32-34" wide and around 200" gross. He was in an area that I am familiar with and I was pretty confident I knew where he was going. Well, I'm glad I had someone with me who has some heart because we had to cover some ground in a hurry to get infront of the buck. We managed to pull it off and found a good place to hide and sure enough the monster typical showed up. Unfortunately the huge buck only came within 65 yrds so it didnt work out for us this time. Just being that close was worth the hike and we both will probably remember it for a very long time! Well we were hiking out and sort of thought Jon's first day of his hunt was coming to an end when I figured we should swing around and check one more spot on the way back to camp. Sure enough it paid off when we spotted another great buck. This time we managed to put a perfect stalk on the buck and Jon made a fantastic 38 yrd shot! The buck was one I was very familiar with having many photos and video footage of. This made me just as excited as Big Jon! There we were, Jon standing at 6'6" and me standing at a whopping 5'6 1/2", we were jumping around like a couple little girls!! Nothing like great memories in the field with a great friend like Jon. Hope we have many more together.
