This was actually a spring turkey hunt for my daughter. We went during youth weekend. The staff at the ranch was excellent. Very friendly, good food, etc. The hunt also included feral hogs and javalina. We saw quite a few hogs but elected not to shoot as we were waiting for my daughter's first turkey. We were a little cramped in a popup blind on the first day. Me, ny daughter, and the guide to call for us. Although very cordial his calliung was at best marginal. On the second day only my daughter and I went and I called. She got a nice turkey with a shotgun at about 18 yds. Very doable for any of us bowhunters. Our guide came back as we sat on stand on the last morning and told me he had located some javalina. Indeed he had. 3 were feeding at a corn feeder. I was able to stalk up to bow range but could not quite get a shot. Then a group of wild pigs busted in and off went the javis. Oh well, it was fun. I definitely would recommend and hunt here again.
It was great having Bob and his daughter hunt with us. We are looking forward to their return.
