I recommend this outfitter

This was the first year for my wife and I to hunt with Pine Acres Bear Camps. Neither of us tagged a bear but I did have two very good opportunities and just did not do my part. I got "bear fever" (which actually surprised me because and have taken many Whitetails with my bow) when a 350# bear came in on the second night and offered me a perfect broadside shot while he was standing and had his head in the bait bucket at 20 yards. Two hours later I had a smaller (200#) bear come in and I passed on the opportunity to shoot him. My wife was one of the few hunters in camp that did not see a bear although she did hear one crash off into the bush from directly downwind of her on her first sit. That bear never came back and the bait was not hit for the next 2 sits so Chris moved her to another stand several miles away. On her second hunt on that stand she walked up on a bear while walking out at dark with her rifle unloaded and encased, although she did not actuality see it. She stopped when she smelled an overwhelming odor of bear urine. At that point the, still unseen bear, ran away from her crashing through the bush. Chris moved her to a third stand for the last day or two where her bait was fully consumed each day but she did not see one there either.

Extenuating circumstances - Unseasonably hot weather, full moon and excellent blue berry crop all contributed to less than ideal hunting conditions.

Chris and Lottie were both very personable and run a great camp for a very reasonable price. We can not fault them for our lack of success this year. We have already booked another hunt for next year and would highly recommend them to others.
