Another amazing week at the Wide Rack with Mike. Unfortunately it was both the best week of bowhunting and worst week I have ever had. It was the best week, because I saw more deer in one week than I have ever seen since beginning bowhunting. 4 shooter bucks, one that I got a shot on, and 3 out of range. The weather was amazing, the food was fantastic, the new facilities for the hunters were super, the number and quality of the stand locations were superb, and the other guys in camp were a great group to be with. The only negative for the week was my own stupid choice not to wear my glasses on stand. I have been able to get away with not wearing them until this year. This was my 3rd year in a row to hunt the Wide Rack with Mike and I have taken 2 bucks and 5 does in the previous 2 years. The decision ended up costing me 3 deer 2 does and a buck. I was able to harvest 1 doe. It stinks getting older, but it was my mistake and it wont happen again. Mike as always went above and beyond, and knows his deer herd better than anyone I have ever met. The week would have been perfect apart from my poor shooting. I hope to go back again next year, and all I can say is Mike and Elaina I love you both and thank you for another amazing week at the Wide Rack by far both my favorite place and favorite people with which to hunt giant whitetails. Many blessings to you my friends!!!! If your looking for a place to hunt whitetail look no further than the Wide Rack. Mike is both a wonderful outfitter, and a expert bowhunter with a trophy room to prove it. It will be a hunt that will not just be an adventure but an amazing learning experience from an accomplished bowhunter. Thanks again Mike every year has been a dream come true.
P.S. No Fat Jokes in the Ranger:)
Dan, Your comments humble me. We try to provide the same hunting adventure for all of our hunters. We have enjoyed sharing in your bowhunting journey the last three years. Ya just had a few bumps in the road this season. I am sure by next season here at the Wide Rack you will be a better archer because of your in the field mistakes. It are those times in a bowhunters journey that he or she learn important lessons the hardway. But it is also out of these lessons we become the mentors for the next generation of bowhunters. Thank you again for the kind words Dan. GBTA! Mike Connett, Wide Rack Outfitters
