This was the 2nd attempt to harvest a cougar with this outfitter. The guides worked very hard for me. The first time weather was bad, and both snowmobiles broke down only allowing 2 full days of hunting. Never saw a track. Came back to hunt this year at half price. Conditions were perfect, I had two guides rather than one covering hundreds of miles of terrain for five days straight. We never saw a track. I just feel the cat population is not as large in that area as they think. They're oppinion was I was just an unlucky hunter.
Was the outfitter notified of problems? - NO
I disagree with Mr.Defonzo’s report. He is not telling the truth. He saw two sets of cat tracks that were made two days prior to his arrival. He also saw the video of two cats taken just three days prior to his arrival. The first day of his hunt they treed a nice cat and Mr.Defonzo lost the coin toss to Evan Dahl who took the cat.I quess you could call that bad luck for sure.My guides said Mr.Defonzo had a bad attitude from the get go.Equipment does break down now and again. This did not effect his hunt whatsoever. All I can say maybe Mr.Defonzo should look into maybe golf or bowling. He surely is not much of a hunter. He stayed in a fabulous lodge, ate great food and had two of the best guides he will ever hunt behind working their butts off for him for less than 2000.00 .It is hunting not killing.Tim Craig
