Another super year hunting with Doug Arnold @ Verdigris Valley Outfitters. This was my 4th year in a row hunting with Doug. I have always seen quality deer in my 4 years. Each year the deer I see get better and better. I had success on the second day of the hunt this year 2007 with a very nice 9 pointer. I saw 6 does and 7 different bucks in two days.

The lodge and the hunt are extremely organized. The deer stands are all set up for the bow hunter in mind. Doug takes great pride in setting a deer stand. After I shot my deer I was able to spend a great deal of time with Doug and his team. I was able to tag along when they were selecting an area to place a new stand where a 170 class buck was being seen. Much thought and effort went into this selection. After the stand was in the tree, shooting lanes were cleared out. Everything that was touched by human hands was sprayed over with cover scent. Doug has plenty of stands where you never have to hunt the same stand twice. Every year I have either shot and missed or the buck would not step into range for an ethical shot. The deer range in class from the low 120's to the 180's. I know one year I will see a 200 class buck hunting with Doug. If you want to hunt mature quality bucks, Doug is the guy to contact and hunt with. I will be returning for the 2008 season. I can hardly wait.
