I recommend this outfitter

I booked and went on a archery Moose hunt with (an Alberta Outfitter) "Louis Shilka at Alberta Wilderness Adventures in Worsley, Alberta". The hunt was absolutely fantastic; it was everything that I ever imagined a guided hunt would be. And let me say right now that I did not get a moose; a moose would have been the cherry on top. But not getting a moose was not because the (Outfitter) "Louis Shilka" or the Guide "Rick Kamenicki" didn't do everything in their power to try make it happen.

The camp was wonderful. (The Outfitter asked) "Louis Shilka" asks that the hunters bring camp slippers to wear in the eating cabin……well the eating cabin was so nice I would have taken off my boots when I went in to eat anyway. The food was so good, even hunting day light to dark every day, I gained 5 pounds. "Bev", the camp cook was absolutely a fantastic cook. The meals were hot, delicious ready when you woke up and waiting on the hunters at the end of the day The sleeping cabins were simple and exactly what was needed…….comfortable & warm after a long day of hunting.

I can't say enough about (the Outfitter and Guide) "Louis and Rick". Neither told me how to hunt. We talked about hunting and discussed tactics. They explained how and why we would hunt a particular way on a given day and they answered questions. I feel like I learned a lot about moose hunting specifically and hunting in general. We tried stand hunting, spot and stalk and calling. I saw 32 moose, 3 of which were bulls and got within 115 yards of one bull - just out of range for me with my bow. I also saw bears that I could have taken, whitetails and mule deer.

When I came home from my hunt I have told everyone that will listen to me what a wonderful hunt that I had. I describe it as a hot fudge sundae with whipped cream and nuts……the only thing that was missing was the cherry on top. And it was fantastic even without the cherry.

I also feel like I made three new wonderful friends. "Louis, Rick and Bev have an open invitation that if they are ever near my home they can call and stop by anytime…..there will always be room for them here."

I am already planning a trip back "to hunt with Louis, Rick and Bev for the fall of 2009". This time I am planning on taking some of my friends so they can enjoy this wonderful experience...

"If you ever have an outfitter just starting out that needs some guidance on how to treat their clients or run a hunting camp, I would highly recommend that you have them visit (maybe even hunt a week) with Louis Shilka, Rick Kamenicki and Bev. They would be better for the experience".

Outfitter's Response
Agree

I have been outfitting since 1972 and have been on my own hunts as well, both nationally and internationally. I have met a lot of hunters and have a fair bit of experience and I understand what makes a successful and professional hunt. Mr. Bundy excells as a person and is an excellent hunter and sportsman and I was proud to have him hunting in my camp. He is a blueprint for any sportsman. My only regret is that his guide could not put him within bow range of a respectable bull moose. Unfortunate, but on ocassion that happens with hunting. Thanks Arthur.
