I recommend this outfitter

I have been disappointed many times with substandard outfitters and substandard hunts. THIS WAS NOT THE CASE with Pink Mountain Outfitters!

From picking me up at the airport in Ft St John until taking me back, Lloyd and his staff provided the utmost in care and professionalism. I was not disappointed in any way whatsoever.

The previous year there was an outbreak of ticks that weakened the moose significantly and then on top of that, there was a bad winter that followed. This made for a noticeable decline in the moose population from earlier years according to a guide who has guided in that area for more than 30 yrs. That said, we still went 5 for 6 and the moose ranged from 43-56 inches....terrific bulls. Hunter number 6 saw 9 bulls but none that were legal or to his liking. I love the restrictions which are resulting in some nice bulls!

I was archery hunting. The weather was lousey and it rained nearly every day, and snowed a rain/snow mix 3 times. I have never seen so much mud! On day 4 we decided to go to a new area and look for tracks in the snow during mid day. We carried a rifle for protection only. Big mistake. We came across a fresh bull track and decided to follow it. We stalked to within 60 yds and I used the rifle to take the bull in his bed, and he never moved. Although I wanted to use archery, I have no regrets because I have been on so many hunts where I never saw a single animal. It is a trophy I am and will be proud of.

I highly recommend Pink Mountain Outfitters! This was their first season as owners and they are anxious to please. He and his sons are avid bowhunters and know their stuff. The area is very remote and is almost 5000 sq miles and quite diverse. It is easy to reach but does not require a bush flight saving a lot of money, yet I never saw another hunter. They also have an abundance of bears, both griz and black as well as elk. I saw several lynx and a wolf on this trip too. Great hunt! I will definitely return.
