Hunter Comments
I do not recommend this outfitter

outfitter had not prepared for the hunt. although they live in area, hadnt seen a moose in months but we hunted the same place every day. there was sign, but all very old. treestands were in poor poor condition.the one i was put in had grown into the tree in different angles (2 piece climber), and the seat had rotted away and been replaced with some tape. completely uncomfortable junk. camp had no shower like advertised, plus there was a last second motel room we had to pay for that was supposed to be taken care of. on the day we were to leave, me and my partner had to stay in camp and stack wood for another COMANY, even though our guides knew we had a drive ahead of us. it ended up taking a couple hours, and we got home very late. guide/outfitters feel they did a great job with us, as their website advertises a treestand as one of the methods they use, and they wont discuss their preseason scouting efforts. one of the 2 guides told my partner and i on our last day there that they hadnt prepared well enough, but now that were home emails from same guide say they gave a 100% professional effort.

Was the outfitter notified of problems? - YES

Outfitter's Response
Disagree

Alberta Rocky Mountain Adventures has provided the hunt that we advertise on our Website to Mr. Jones. We would like to take this opportunity to address some of the comments submitted. First, as for weather effecting the hunt, we did experience some precipitation in the form of rain and snow, during which Mr. Jones chose not to hunt, and this was for approx. 1 1/2 days out of the six days of hunting. All other days were in excess of 70 degrees with no cloud cover at all. As for Mr. Jones' comment on the tree stand, HE chose to sit in the stand he refers to instead of the "brand new" stand in a tree not 25 yds away that we placed earlier in the year to replace the stand he is complaining about! It was his choice to use this stand which he comically named "The Iron Maiden", not ours! As for accomodation before and after hunts it is clearly outlined on our website under "Prices" that we do not include this cost in our fees. We at no time implicated to Mr. Jones that it would be. Mr. Jones' comment about Alberta Rocky Mountain Adventures "not being prepared" is a misquote and was never stated as indicated. The wood stacking was done, not for another company, but for safety reasons due to removal of dead trees in and around camp, total time taken was at most one hour. Arrival at the trail head, for Mr. Jones' departure was during the noon hour and was in no way delayed by this safety measure. This is the time that we normally would arrive out of camp on our departure day. Travel time and means of travel after the hunt with Alberta Rocky Mountain Adventures is entirely the responsability of the hunters. Your rating "bars" indicate that Mr. Jones was not satisfied with the food in our camp as it shows only a one. Our camp chef is an experienced "Red Seal" chef, with years of hunt camp expereince, and all of our food is prepaired fresh and on site. Mr. Jones actually left with a recipe of one of the meals served one evening as he stated quote," I could live on this stuff!". Mr. Jones even has gone so far as to personally email our chef and thank her again for her efforts! The rating of "one" is contradictory to anything Mr. Jones has mentioned previously. The only comment that we can agree on is Mr. Jones' reference to the shower. We regretfully did not have our shower in camp during Mr. Jones' hunt due to circumstances outside our control and we did express these regrets to him. In closing Alberta Rocky Mountain Adventuers can not be held responsable for a hunters "expectations" of a high mountain hunt if these expectations are unrealistic and do not fall under the type of hunt we offer as advertised.

Repectfully,

Alberta Rocky Mountain Adventures
