We were into elk every day. Hunting on a 50,000 acre private cattle ranch with only 5 bowhunters for the season resulted in unpressured elk. Rick usually spreads his bowhunters over a 3 week period. Mornings we were on foot calling and spot/stalk while the evenings I would sit in a ground blind where elk would file past on there way to either alfalfa fields or oat fields. Most of his hunters were successful this way but I was able to shoot my bull in the morning with calling.

It was not unusual to have 50-75 elk in the fields with big bulls chasing cows all over the place.

The hunt is 6 days but you have the option to extend it 3 more days @ $300 per day. With all the mule deer and big whitetails running around up there, extending the hunt was worth it. Once you fill your elk tag you can chase whitetails,bears and mulies on a trophy fee basis.
