The camp we were placed in had very little caribou activity through it at the time we were there and it showed little sign of having had recent movement as well. On the 5th day of the hunt, I killed my bull, a nice double shovel with big bez but poor tops, with my rifle as it was the first bull I had seen. It scored 311. On this same day, the only bull killed with a bow was taken by my partner, it scored 356. We were moved to another camp but had only 1 1/2 days to hunt there. As a bowhunting only group, the rifle that I had brought in addition to my bow was used by 5/8 from our group to kill bulls during that time. Because of determination, a willingness to get out and hike a long way and some guys switching to the rifle, we killed 10 out of a possible 16 caribou. Three were cows. Rodney, our camp manager, went above and beyond what was expected to help us. Our hunt proved that when things are tough, you'll only succeed if you put some effort into it. Eves, our outfitter, seems like a good guy who really wants to see you have a succesful hunt. The only issue which concerned us was why we were first put into the camp we were, given the obvious lack of caribou movement. When we questioned Eves about this he explained that several camps to the north of ours had done very well leading up to the day we arrived and he anticipated movement in our direction . . . which, unfortunately, didn't occur. Given the pricing of this hunt and the effort and accomodations, I would still reccomend this outfitter. Please note that 6 of our 8 guys had hunted with CM two years prior to this hunt and had done EXTREMELY well in a short amount of time.
