Garrett Bros. Outfitting

Even though the unseasonably cool weather caused us to have a tough hunt, everyone had a great time in camp. The staff was awesome, and this "family camp" really made a guy feel at home. Although I didn't kill a bear, the quality of animals that I saw and the bears killed or video'd by the other guys in camp (not to mention their 160% or so historical success rate) speaks to the quality of their hunt area.
Camp was great, the food was top notch (this may be the first hunt I ever gained weight on) and the guides busted their humps trying to help us be successful under tough circumstances.
You can look at a number of statistics when researchgiung hunts - opportunity %, success %, etc. In my mind, the most telling measure is the percentage of hunters who re-book with the same outfitter, and I have never hunted with an outfitter who boast a higher re-booking rate than the Garrett's.
None to date. If you are the outfitter please email us.
During our trip, the weather switched from rain and cold (high 30's) to warm (mid-70's) to windy. Based on the comments from the Garrett's fly-in camp (180 miles away) and the comments from guys who hunted with other outfitters in the general area, the changing weather really turned off the bear activity during the week we were there. The cool weather keeps the bait scent down and the cold and/or high wind really slows down the bear movement.
