This hunt exceeded my expectations. The lodging,food,transportation,and personal attention was excellent. Most importantly the bait sites are maintained every single day allowed by law. I also liked that a hunter is transported to the bait site by boat. To me it made the experience even better. We were served an excellent breakfast in the mornings, then went fishing in well maintained boats with new honda motors,came back for lunch or had a shore lunch, and then were taken out to hunt in the evenings. When we returned we were served a fantastic dinner. Kevin and Derrick the guides rotated between my group and the other group. I was always with a guide and it was nice to be able to visit with each of them and get there take on the place. Vance the owner also guided and took us out two times. Vance was constantly making sure that the whole group was taken care of and happy. Vance will go the exta mile to make sure your hunt goes the best that it can. I personally witnessed him taking a full half day to help a hunter track a bear on hands and knees through some very thick cover. He did this with no grumbling or sarcasm. And this bait location was 26 miles by boat from camp.
I agree with Adams report. I sent an email to you guys to supply a further response. I am confident we run the best bear hunts in Canada. The highest success as well as the greatest percentage of bears over 6ft. in length. I'd like to say it's because we are such a great outfitter but in all honesty it's due as well to the fact that we are in an area with extremely high bear density. It's not uncommon for a hunter to see more than two dozen bears in five or six days of hunting. We work very hard before the hunter arrives and this ensures awesome success for our guests. Vance
The weather was warmer during the first part of the week (75-84 degrees) and then cooled down during the last half of the week.(60's)
