I killed a wall-mounter buck on the opening day of the second half of shotgun season at the Boneyard Outfitters in Franklin County, Southern Illinois. I passed up 17 bucks the first half of the season waiting for a shooter, and make the shot count when I had the opportunity. The temperature was dropping, turning to freezing rain. I passed up 4 bucks, then saw this brute booking across a cornfield and dropped him with a 70-yard shot. My 15-year-old son Kyle took his personal best buck on the opening day of the 2013 firearm season. I don't know who was happier, me or my son! When a snowstorm followed the freezing rain, my son and I both tagged out on antlerless deer in the snow. What a blast. Jason runs a family-friendly camp, and the homecooked dinners were outstanding. It was definitely a huntto remember. We will definitely be going back the The Boneyard!
