The only reason I listed quantity of animals as very good is the fact that in my home state of Alabama the population of whitetail deer is greater than that of Kansas. The quality of the deer that I have personally viewed while hunting on property held by Doug Arnold, owner of Verdigris Valley Outfitters, is unequaled by any other property that I have hunted on. I have taken several Pope and Young animals while hunting with Doug and have had a 200 class animal 12 yards from my stand. The animal had no idea I was there but he would not present me with an ethical shot. While in camp this year another hunter was fortunate enough to take a seventeen point grossing in the high 170's. For a hunter who is not afraid to put in the time in the tree, maintain scent control, and be conscious of noise discipline, the odds of getting trophy class bucks into bow range is extremely high. I have had Pope and Young animals inside of 18 yards every year that I have hunted with Doug (every year since 2000)and have seen Boone and Crockett class animals every year, as well.
