I do not recommend this outfitter

to whome it may concern. I found people to be friendly .lunch@supper were good ,breaktast consisted of breakfast bar cocoa puffs, fruit loops, if there was milk? The cabin was nice, but cluttered but we had roaches in our bedroom that got into our clothes. shower slow @not very hot, septic tank was overflowing @ smelled very bad.bagged targets on range worn out ,lost 2 arrows. There were 4 people in camp, one a returnee from 2012,a free trip because last years was so bad! He will not be returning .The 4 of us spent a total of about 200 hrs. in stands seeing approx. 50 to 70 deer , mostly does @ small bucks.0no good shooters! I shot about a 115 ,8, point on Saturday our last day .Dave said he would take care of butchering, but the butcher was closed on sat.I said I would skin @ quarter deer myself, but they said there neighbor had a shop in his garage @he would do butcher it ,but could,t grind burger. A couple of hours later they told me meat was in freezer @ I could get it next morning when we were leaving ,When I picked it up it felt real lite for a whole deer. when I got home I found they had given me some old meat that was wrapped in zip lock bags @ half freezer burned .When I called they admitted they substituded old meat for mine@ they were Sorry! I have called dave 4 times @ he has not returned my calls. In closing if you are thinking about booking with S.O.O think again , And don't be fooled by the pictures on the website Yours Truly, Ken

This hunter came the week of Oct 22-26th, pre-rut. We absolutely can not control when the big bucks are moving. The guides scouted, found rubs on massive trees, etc.....hunters wouldn't even go out because the "deer weren't moving", a few sat in the lodge, there were other shooter bucks seen that week in close quarters, so there were more than just small bucks seen. We can not control the weather, and we can not make the big bucks get up on their feet. As for the butcher, this hunter was sent home with his deer meat as any of our other hunters would. As a side note, KEN NOTTLES, never approached me or the guides while on his hunt, and he never contacted me after the hunt via email or via phone call to discuss any of the details you might have read below. I have to find out on my own via the internet. So, 4 hunters in camp, not all hunters hunted each day, there were shooters seen and one connected on out of 4 guys and he got his meat just like any other hunter throughout the last 10 years has. The outfitter can't perform miracles and change deer movement, and there is only so much that we can do. Some weeks can be bad, but don't blame the outfitter behind his back. The following week was unreal, with lots of opportunites and everyone is coming back. Feel free to call these guys Jack Dougherty - 413/977/4512 Zach Dougherty - 413/231/2420 Christian Simmers - [email protected] and I have countless others I could put on here.
