I do not recommend this outfitter

Wouldn't go back if they paid me! Children in camp, lack of food, to many people for the size of the camp, just to name a few of the problems. Poor baiting habits by guide. He would disappear every morning (to check on and bait sites), later learned his father-in-law lives right down the street! Never baited when he took the hunter to the stand, but every stand had "really big bear at this stand"!?! I knew I was in trouble when I paid for my license and he didn't give all my change back. Bottom line, this kid is a supervisor at a meat plant, and this is his way of paying off their vacation cabin. He feeds you but doesn't tell you the only beverage is tap water and orange juice. I could go on but enough, you've been warned.

Was the outfitter notified of problems? - YES

Outfitter's Response
Disagree

Sad to hear he did not enjoy his stay with us but this person was difficult the moment he walked in the door. Our bait sites are checked daily which is a big job to do and I am insulted to hear he would think I spent all that time at my in-laws. There would also be no need for these sites to be re-baited when we place the hunters in the tree stand because they had already been baited during the day and all of my hunters appreciate this tremendously. Some of my return hunters had requested if they could take along there kids to watch them harvest a bear and share the thrill of the bear hunt with them and I felt it would be good to support our youth hunters. Unfortunately this person did not like kids and I apologized to him and offered him a big discount for any future hunt. Our meals are always in abundance and when he purchased his bear hunting license he did not have the correct change but I gave it to him shortly after, if there was an issue with this he should have came forward. Once again I feel saddened that he did not enjoy his hunt but must admit it was not pleasant having him with us.
