I went on this hunt with my 16 year old son and Joel worked very hard to get us on a trophy animal. We saw bucks each day we hunted, I was successful on a beautiful 8 point buck (second day of the hunt), my biggest so far! My son saw two trophy class animals but was unable to get a shot, the first he was unsure of the deer making the minimum 130 inch standard and the second came in just a little late in the evening. He said it was the biggest deer he had ever seen, he was still shook up 30 minutes later so I believe him. :) Joel showed us the trail camera pictures later that night, 180 inch animal, wow! We had a great time, Joel is a top shelf guy and has a top shelf lodge. He is just a hunter like us and wants you to be successful. The tree stands are ladder stands and lock on style Millenium stands, very comfortable and he does a great job of setting up a screen for you to draw on the deer while they can't see you. He spends the time on the details that are needed for this type of hunt. I would love to hunt with them again, outstanding!

It was cold but clear on all but one of the days. The day it rained I shot my buck in the morning and my son saw a few deer, that afternoon we just hung out at the lodge. The rest of the days were clear and cold with the usual Illinois wind.
