I do not recommend this outfitter

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Since my hunt, I have spoken to 7 other hunters that had horrible experiences with this outfitter in the weeks before my hunt, and have encouraged them to submite thier own reviews, so I will just report what happened to me and my party. 8 of us paid 800 each for a 4 day hunt with a farm house to stay in. Troy said he would get our deer out for us, and set us up with a processor. We drive 13 hours, and meet Troy Popielarz in a motel parking lot. troy says the farm house is being cleaned, So we will be in a motel for a day. Find out there are at least 23 other hunters at the motel hunting with troy, and he has told them the same thing. None of us ever saw a farm house. we drive 20-30 miles to the 2 farms we are hunting and troy pointed out the stands. The stands were all bow stands that had been hunted all season with 30 yard shots. We had 7 total stands on 2 farms for 8 hunters. We had to go buy pop up blinds after the first day because you couldn't pay a deer to go near the stands. Troy offered a pop up blind, which turned out to be an empty box. It rained, so we had a mile walk in and out everyday, and 4 of us killed deer, and since Troy disappeared after opening night and didn't have a 4 wheeler anyway, we had a great work out pulling them out, and make no mistake. These deer are 250+! Some of the other groups got stuck, so Troy called me and told me not to drive on the roads because he had no way to help us. Troy however had a great season himself, showing up on the 10th with a nice 8 pt he said he shot, we all, in 3 different groups of 6 to 8, expressed the desire to move to diff locations. Troy had told us all that he had plenty of places to move us. Then he left the night of the 10th,for a Family emergency of some kind. none of the hunters could reach him. the evening of the 13th He came back and had 2 more buck heads in his truck. he told one of the Alabama guys he had been hunting with his son. He wanted to to take pics of our deer for his Facebook page, and welcome in the next group of suckers. All in all he had 23 hunters for the first 4 days. I didn't hear a single good word about this operation from them, with several, including one of my group just leaving after the 2nd day. Out of the hunters there, I saw a 130 class buck, 4 does, 4 little 8 pts and I killed a button buck and a 9 pt. brought in. so I killed my deer, but in 4 days of hunting all day in 19 degree weather in the missouri rut, I only saw 2 deer, and I killed them both. that's not great for 23 hunters. I won't be back, and I would caution anyone going to be prepared to bring your own stands (do not listen to Troy and leave your climber at home. You will need it if you want to kill a deer), skin your own deer out in the motel parking lot ( there is no skinning facility like you will be told there is, and there is a processor down the road, and he will tell you he might be able to get your meat ready by next week or a little longer), and you will need that 4 wheeler unless you have 7 buddies that like to drag deer a mile across a cut bean field. Troy will be nowhere around to help you, and has no why to help you anyway. Feel free to call me with questions 318-992-6472. Im sure Troy will comment, and will explain how Some people just cant be satisfied, dont know how to hunt, etc. But not a single person out of the 23 had a good thing to say about this outfitter. ALL of us had been lied to about facilities, assistance with transportation, stands, number of farms, the list goes on and on. You might also be placed in a stand over bait, which is illegal in Missouri, as a couple of hunters in another group found out the hard way. And if the locals ask who you are hunting with, be prepared to have an uncomfortable moment when they call you a poacher and tresspasser, because you are hunting with Troy. I can provide other numbers to call for confirmation of my report, from hunters from Miss, Alabama, and La. They all said they would be happy to give a full, private report if you want it.
