This was a true wilderness hunt. Most of the animals here have never seen a human. Moose are not like whitetails and they are not behind every tree. We worked very hard on a ten day hunt but the moose were not cooperating or vocal. We came within 50 yards on two 60+ inch legal bulls but no cigar. Lloyd is the owner of Pink Mountain and, as my guide, tried every trick he new to get a bull. We never gave up and we explored just a corner of his 10,000 square mile concession. Everyone truely wants you to succede on this hunt. This was my fourth trip for moose and I have yet to connect. If I ever do kill a moose with my longbow, it will be with Pink Mountain. I recommend them highly.
I guided Ed this fall and found him to be the best , most dedicated bow hunter I have ever guided . Although we were within 50 yards of not one , but 2 very large bull moose , not once did he ever ask for my rifle . He truly is dedicated to getting a bull moose with his traditional equipment and we applaud him for that . We hunted very hard along several lakes and were out many times before full daylight , but although close , we did not close the deal . Ed is certainly welcome here any time with his bow and I hope to guide him again one day soon . We made some tremendous video and got some amazing pictures of bull moose and actually the last day was our best hunting day , but on this trip it was not meant to be . The weather was extremely warm, into the 90's, the week before my arrival. I don't know if that altered normal moose behavior for my hunt but I would describe our weather as seasonal to a little warm.
