Being the first time ever to hunt wild hogs, I was unsure what to expect. Bob Proctor, President of Alpine Archery. Vince Kite, Sales and Marketing Manager for Alpine and myself arrived in San Antonio, were greeted then taken straight to the ranch to commence hunting for hogs. We made a quick stop to get the valid hunting license and off we went. South Texas is a whole different type of climate than northern Idaho. We were faced with warm tropical like weather with a fabulous lightning show on Friday evening. The laid back atmosphere at the ranch made this feel more like a vacation than a hunting trip. We were able to ride around the ranch and get familiar with the lay of the land (quite flat in south Texas compared to northern Idaho). We enjoyed great company with Chris Martin, Drew and Teri Butterwick and the ever so fabulous tracking dog, Jetta. Also ate great food and drink and slept in beds as comfy as home. The hog hunting was unlike anyother type of hunting that I have ever done before. We saw lots of hogs and had lots of shot opportunities. I harvested 2 hogs during the trip and will definity make plans to return. ***Note*** The snake hunting was just about as fun as hunting the hogs. White Antler Ranch has my vote for a hog hunt!!!
None to date. If you are the outfitter please email us.
Weather on Friday evening kept things at bay for the evening hunt, but back on schedule on Saturday.
