Ron Dare is a great outfitter. I would compare his operation to that of Jack Hume Adventures, which is the best outfitter I have ever hunted with, now I place Bear Track Outfitters in that elite class. Ron and Jeannine run a smooth operation and there were no glitches. The territory Ron has is outstanding and full of bears! Ron caters to bow hunters but rifle hunters are accomodated as well. All stands can be hunted with any type of weapon. Ron urges his clients to bait with the guides in the morning and he uses plenty of bait. Much more than other outfits I have hunted with. When you go to the bait you can tell if it is being hit or not. There is no BS with this outfit. The food was superb and the cabins were great. My guide Darren is a wild man and an outstanding bear guide. Ron and Darren will do whatever it takes to put you on a bear. I was lucky to take my first bear with a bow on the first night! My buddy also took a nice boar on the 2nd night. All tagged out and we were 6 for 6 that week with 2 monsters taken. We also caught a bunch of pike from shore. I was truly blessed on this hunt and look forward to many future hunts with Ron and Beat Track Outfitters.
Talk about an unassuming guest. Guess that comes from being ex-army and policeman! Guys like Phil, I'll have in camp any time! He thoughly enjoyed his stay with us and re-booked before they left. So easy to get along with and loved to hear our stories. And it was wet and windy when he was in camp but the bears did their part to get us through the weather.
We had high winds and rain the first two days.
