We decided to take a chance and go for a low-budget hunt...we came out on the losing end. We provided our own food and the accomodations were barely standing, but that was communicated to some degree ahead of time and it didn't bother us. This was my first out-of-state hunt, so I took the land owner's (outfitter) words to heart regarding the quality and quantity of deer. I sat the treestands from before daylight until after dark for 5 of the 6 days we were scheduled to hunt, and didn't have an opportunity to draw on a single deer, let alone a buck. I saw around 10 does from the stands in 5 days, none that even came close to the stands. Unknown to us, the shotgun season ended the day before our hunt started and the deer were very, very skittish...

3 of us, including one very seasoned whitetail hunter, shared the farm with 2 other guys from PA, one of which was also a very seasoned whitetail hunter, and all agreed that there just weren't many deer on the property. The guys from PA left early, unhappy as well.

Definitely did not turn out to be the hunt that we were sold...
