8 of us booked this bowhunt for exotics due to great ratings this outfitter had from other sites. When we got there I realized these ratings had to have been from a previous decade. We saw Mr. Chambers the first evening when he tok the rest of the money. We had 7 or 8 hunters in camp that we had to wait on to get out before we could move in, with NO cleaning before we unloaded. They had been in camp for 7 days shooting hogs. There where 3 day old gut piles under the skinning rake, millions of flies, and as we found out to our distress, an infestation of fleas in the bunk house. The shower had inch deep black fungus growing on the floor and walls. We were taken to our stands by the grandson of Mr. Chambers. This young man could care less if you kill anything, he is a teenager doing a job he does not like and will be glad to tell you this. The stands where handmade for the most part, with a barstool chained to a tree. (Im not making this up). The animals I saw other than hogs, were pitiful. I was on a hunt for axis, which I never saw in 3 days. after the first full day, we realized that if we where going to kill anything we had to move stands. ONLY after begging the grandson (Mr. Chambers was "away") were we allowed to move stands, and my son and another hunter had to do it. That evening our group shot a small audad, small axis, and a fallow doe after the stands where changed. the majority of animals where thin and full of fleas. I saw no food plots due to the drought, but also saw not feeders either. the only feed I was told they get are from the corn put out during hunts, and it cost us extra to get more corn put out. all in all, it was a terrible experience. Im sure at one time it was a nice place, but those days are gone. And yes, we all brought fleas home, so go ahead and figure in the cost of debugging your house and gear.
