Initially I had a 2-day ram & hog hunt that I won high bid on at an auction. Mesquite Bowhunting graciously upgraded my hunt to the 4-day Safari Package that included 1 exotic deer, 1 ram and 2 hogs.

Gerald Garrett, the ranch manager and guide, worked had to ensure that I was successful with collecting my animals. Saw a lot of game and passed on several shot opportunities. Wish I had purchased a WT deer license as I saw many nice bucks during the course of my hunt.

Would definitely consider returning to the concession for future hunts.

The brush country of South Texas is very reminisent of South Africa expecially with the red, dusty soil which is a result of the drought conditions of the region. The drought conditions were favorable for the hunt as the animals really responded to the corn when distributed. The weather was perfect during the hunt.

Both the ranch owner, Tommy Muston and the ranch manager, Gerald Garrett, are bowhunters- so they truly understand the needs of a bowhunter.
