I recommend this outfitter

My experience with Bell Wildlife Specialties was awsome! From the day I arrived in Harveyville, KS which was a day eirly to plan the hunt, and where I was going to be on stand, how to get into the stand, Dan Bell immediately put me on stand that evening; no waiting to hunt the next day. Dan said to me "if your here, you may as well hunt tonight". Dan showed me video-cam pictures of the bucks so I could pick which buck I wanted and recommended a stand site with a pond and watering hole due to drought conditions that had at least 3 mature 150+ class bucks in the area. I seen his personal photo album of bucks that were taken in past years, by past clients of his that were beautiful! Dan Bell my guide was very knowledgable in stand placement. This years hunt was particularly hard due to the extreme drought conditions in Kansas as a whole. Some areas the deer herd suffered from blue tounge disease. Most river beds were bone dry, and the temperatures were unseasonably warm for deer movement and hunting for whitetails. Dan put me over water sources and water holes where I seen a ton of deer. Dan was very flexible, and worked with me in the field to select stand and groud ambush sites. He even pruned a ceder tree for me to hide in on the ground about 25 yards from a watering hole to ambush a mature buck. My experience was amazing. Seen in all stand sights plenty of whitetails: does, fawns, spikehorns, 4 pointers, 6 pointers, 8 pointers, 10 pointers, and even in the 5 days of hunting two mature bucks that could of easily topped 160 inch class. However, because of warm conditions only seen them 160 class bucks at last light and out of bow range. I even had an 8 pointer bed down 25 yards from me on the last day of my hunt, but it wasn't more than 100 inches, not shootable for me. I even had a doe and 6 pointer almost sniffing me in the ceder tree ground ambush site. We had two days where the temperatures dipped into the 30s in the mourning which I seen more bucks, does, and fawns than any other day but, no bucks big enough to shoot. these deer were very good at using the wind to there advantage and scent control was very important for my success in seeing as many deer as I did. Dan had stands that I was able to sit in in different areas that were baited and non-baited. I sat in both and seen deer, turkey (tons of turkey for the turkey hunting lover, fall and spring, bobcat, coyote. Even seen a once in a life time bobcat stalk and attack its prey. Amazing! to say the least. I felt like one of his own family and ate breakfast, lunch, and dinner with him and his wife Carol, family, and friends at their dinner table. Bunk house was very accomodating with satilite TV. I will definitly return to hunt with Bell Wildlife Specialties in the future and will probably book for the rut (Nov 15ish) I would definitly recommend a hunt with Dan Bell and his outfit!!!!!

Thanks Dan for the awsome time and hunt!!!!!!! Steve Charpentier
