Howey Bay has several fly in hunting lakes for moose. we were flown in dropped off on a remote lake. we hunted for 10 days. we had 2 close encounters, we saw 8 moose and saw fresh tracks on several occations. there is/was a drought going on and part of the hunting area was not accesable account low water. we did hike into that area and seen some well used trails but we did not hunt that area accoungt the low water and its logistics. great people to deal with and no surprises will hunt with them again. keep in mind this is hunting in the thick bush country of northwest ontario it is a calling hunt. you really won't see many moose but they are there. you will see their tracks and antler rubs.

first 2 days of the hunt the wind was blowing pretty hard and we could not hear very well nor could the moose hear our calls, we had about 4 days of calm cool weather and we were into moose those days, it did turn a bit warm and the last day was windy and rainy cool.
