Australian Big Game Safaris

We hunted Waterbuffalo in the NWT of Australia, specifically in the Walker River region of Eastern Arnhemland. This is what I would call a fancy tent camp in the middle of the Australian bush. We had comfortable tents to sleep in and sturdier camp houses for eating, showering and a flush toilet. It was amazing the type of amenities Simon has created in such a wilderness area. The Walker River is so pristine, we used it for all our water supplies during the trip, including drinking. We had a steaming hot shower every night after hunting.
Game was plentiful. Simon put us on good bulls everyday. We were on a management hunt so we were able to arrow a few cows as well. This is no shooting cows in the pen type of hunt. These animals were weary, wild and very aggressive. Most of our stalks ended up with the bull/cow making us out and taking off to parts unknown. Simon carried a double rifle for back up and within a couple stalks I soon realized why. The bulls took great interest in us and we had a few up close and personal experiences with an 1800 pound animal. However, Simon kept us safe and out of harms way with his fantastic ability to sense the behavior of these animals.
This area is dangerous. We had to be careful of crocs and snakes. These were the critters that could ruin your hunt. Luckily we saw no snakes and had only one croc come up and eat the remains of a kill we left near a water source.
Simon is top notch and delivers a fantastic hunt.
