The Namibia concession is new for 2011. About 5000+ acres high-fenced with another 5000+ acres of free range that will be fenced later this year. Very nice new lodge. Great food. Very friendly staff who do all they can to accomodate. Hunting was somewhat disappointing. Some animals that were on the trophy list were not available (nyala, reebok, others) and others nearly non-existent (impala). Gemsbok and eland are pretty numerous. Number of trophy animals spotted was disappointing even though concession reportedly had not been hunted in several years. In 9 days of all-day hunting on waterholes I had a total of two shots...missed zebra and killed gemsbok. Passed a few shots early at animals (nice kudu bull) that were at the edge of my effective shooting range (about 25 yards) and then did not have any opportunities after that. There are plans to fence in the free range area and bring in additional/new animals after this hunting season. There is good potential for this concession with great facilities and staff but I would not return for at least two years to give time for fencing to be completed and introduction of new animals.
