Hunter Comments

I drove to Missouri with two other hunters from N.J. One hunter had hunted with Hawk Outfitters and told me that Scott was an eceptional guide and a great person. After getting to know Scott a short time I agreed. Scott put us out the very first night of our arrival and I was put into a nice stand in a corner wood lot. I was psyched big time. About 1 hour before dark a heard a loud snort weaze at a distance. It eventually got closer and I saw a magnificant 10 or 12 pointer about 60 yards with some obstruction, He never offered a shot and faded away. He was beautiful. I told Scott about the encounter and he told me that I would be hunting at the same spot in the AM since the deer was not spooked. Scott drove me to the area and dropped me off and made sure I found the stand in the dark. At 7:30 a big 10 pointer came in right where the deer from the night before came in, presented a shot at about 28 yards. I shot and the big buck turned and ran dep in the timber. I texted Scott and he told me stay put. About 1 hour later Scott tracked a good blood trail where it eventually went dry. Panic stricken and I was very discouraged. About 300 yards away after losing blood, Scott found a single drop of blood after about a two hour search in a huge cornfield. (Unbelievable) We eventually foung him almost 800 yds away after an incredable,ublievable track. He had was a big 10 with 9 inch brows.My shot was low and nipped one lung. Needless to say I was very excited. To me Scott Hawk is the best I have ever seen.He is very protective of his woods and wants them in pristine shape for his hunters. My hunting partners had similar success and were very happy with the end results. All our deer scored over 145 to 155. Scott is extremely patient,knowledgable and a funny SOB. His workers Jaarad and Dan were fantastic also. I will never forget that hunt and am going back in 2011. Thanks Scott Good Luck with the new lodge.

Jim was a joy to have in camp...He had a very successful hunt and also had a great time (I'm sure)....I have he and his group coming in to do the archery/gun combo in November...you will see pics @ hawkoutfitters.com ...I appreciate the report and look forward to seeing him in a few months...good luck to all and come see us....New lodge being built as we speak!!!!
