I recommend this outfitter

Ron Chekosky is a class act. Operation is run out of a school-turned-motel in Poplarfield, Manitoba which is a comfortable drive north of Winnepeg. Ron offers local baited stands as well as wilderness fly-in camps which are Summer Fishing lodges. Most have solar power. Bears in these camps are not numerous, but huge and under-hunted. My wife took a 21 inch bear with gun and I brisket shot a real monster. We spent 24+ hours tracking before calling it unrecoverable. The fishing was amazing and guides very knowledgeable locals. After returning to base camp after 5 d hunt over, Ron insisted I sit a local stand the last night (a "bonus" day I had not paid for). I took a 16 year old, 17 6/8 in dry sow in the last hour. This was well above and beyond what I had signed up for. I was so pleased, I returned 2 years later for an archery moose hunt. Now, the swamps of Manitoba are on no ones list of best archery moose places, but Ron's service and attention to detail lured me back. I was only archer in camp and had a lake system to myself. Saw several moose and nearly took a 40 yard shot (too far for me, even on moose-sized target). Had a great time using tree stands and calling techniques from remote plane/boat only access areas. All gun hunters took moose, and I could have switched to a smoke pole if I had wanted to. Also offers phenomenal waterfowl hunting and impressive whitetail operation.

Hello

I'm glad to read Mr. Gross' report, he was a well rounded very ethical bow hunter like myself; which made guiding him very pleasurable. We pride ourselves in providing an honest effort and having a 80 percent return rate.
