Mike McCrary is an awesome guy who goes way out of his way to make the whole experience the absolute best it can be. We hunted the Mulchatna herd which has been down in numbers and quality of big bulls the past few years, and Mike let us know up-front what we were up against. However, we saw plenty of animals and had opportunities at mature bulls and both of us killed respectable caribou. However, that accomplishment was secondary to the whole experience, which was made possible by Mike and his willingness to do whatever it took to make our trip a memorable experience. He only books a couple hunters at a time, in fact we were his only hunters that week, and we were checked on regularly.

I would rate the hunting as good, but the overall experience (flights, fishing, bears, blueberries, etc) as outstanding!
