Went hunting with Southern Ohio Outfitters in November of 2010. Prior to the hunt I spoke with the owner/operator and was pleased with what he had told me. When we arrived the camp looked good and excitement was high. We ate dinner which was very good, and got ready for the hunt. As for the hunt it was very poor. We did get 1 bad day of weather, so that was not the cause. Over the entire hunt (which I hunted all day long except for 1 day) I saw only 2 deer, and both of the deer I saw knew where the stands were and kept a watchful eye. One of these deer was a baby doe, and the other was a small 5pt. As for the stands that I was in over the week they were not hung properly and made noise when shifting your body in them. As for the other hunters that were also in camp they had the same experience. During the week hunt I only saw the owner/operator 3 times, and never did he once ask me if how the hunt was going. To sum up the outfitter I would say that the accommodations were good, and the food was very good. The stand set-ups and locations chosen for the stands were very poor. The quality of animals was very poor. The guide I had was pleasant to speak with, but when he keeps putting you in stands that you are not seeing deer there’s not much guiding going on. Over all I have hunted with 5 different outfitters and Southern Ohio Outfitters was the worst outfitter I have been with.
