outfitter stated that I must tuust him and I did, what a mistake that was!The right hand man would showup in the morning with alchol on his breath, and ready to guide.Baiting was to be done before we arrived, that started the wednesday mid week, just to much bad to list... This was my first book hunt that I and my freinds booked also with a gentleman that showedup from pennuslvinna. "so sad" THE BOYS FROM MICHIGAN. HIND SIGHT IS BEST,NEVER BOOK A HUNT WITHOUT A GOOD SOLID REFENCE!
Was the outfitter notified of problems? - YES
As an Outfitter some hunts are a no win. That week I will agree was a very tough hunt. I also must add that anyone who knows hunting knows that when you deal with the lock down phase of the Rut, its tough. Period. Also a note about trust.... when your in lock down and your set in a stand location...YOU HUNT IT more than half a day or a day. Its lock down and when your there its a waiting game. You cant get set, then once set a few hours be calling the guide and demanding to be moved. Another note, once your set in your stand you stay there. You dont get out walking around in bedding areas to see tails wave good bye as you kick them out, as this hunter and one of his companions was pictured on trail cams doing. As for baiting, we dont bait. We do have feeding stations that are re-stocked once a week. As for problems mentioned here with help, there was no one with alcohol during the hunt. This is a very unfortunate situation that even the biggest and best outfitters cannot help. When your on a hunt, don't become your worst enemy! Im sorry this hunter had a bad hunt. This was not relayed to me and his days that he could come back free, they just are not going to happen. This group of hunters were very good guys to be around and I did enjoy them. Two of the men hunted as hard as they could, very hard. Two others, well Mr. Platt for one, was still in bed two mornings at 8am. Not many bucks fall in the bedroom Mr. Platt. Hunters come to me for big bucks. We dont have a hundred deer as Mr. Platt does when you drive a square block, but Mr. Platt also don't see those big bucks there. You have to give up something. Numbers or big bucks. Don't become your worst enemy on your hunt as a hunter, no matter where your at. When you don't trust yourself, you can't trust anyone else either! I apologize for a tough week of Lock Down, but do not apologize for things out of my control on a hunt.
