I do not recommend this outfitter

This outfitter is completely about getting your money and not helping you kill an elk. The guides are next to worthless and the owner is more worried about you "scaring" his elk than you killing one. There is a reason all of the pictures on his website are 20 years old. The guided hunts are definitely not worth the extra money. Our guide had never hunted the area before in his life and had never killed an elk with a bow himself. The only time we saw or heard elk was when he was not with us. The facilities were very substandard. Power was provided from a natural gas generator that they would only run for very limited times, showers had to be taken using flashlights because they shut the generator off. We paid for a 3 on 1 guided hunt and had 1 guide for 4 people. BEWARE OF LAMICQ OUTFITTERS

Was the outfitter notified of problems? - NO

Outfitter's Response
Disagree

First of all, if Mr. Schulz had an issue with his hunt, he should have talked directly to me about his issues rather than post it on a website. It even says below that we were not notified of the problems.

We do care about if a hunter makes a kill. It reflects in our success rates that we keep track of. Our guides are not worthless, the guide you had, Ron lives and breathes hunting. He took vacation time off from work in order to guide for us for the season. As for me worrying about you "scaring" the elk that doesn't even make sense and shows about how you will make up anything in your complaint.

The hunters cabin that you stayed in is not substandard. It has running hot and cold water and natural gas lights as well as a bathroom with a toilet and shower. We run the natural gas generator in the morning and then in the evenings until bed up until 9 or 10 o'clock. If the generator isn't on, we have natural gas lights in each room of the cabin, including the bathroom. So I don't understand why you would take a shower "using a flashlight".

If you read the contract, you paid for a 1x3 hunt which includes the guides, packers and cook in camp that all counts into that ratio.

We have return hunters that come back year after year and we have been in business since the 1960's. It's unfortunate that you didn't have a good hunt, however Mr. Schulz should have talked to me about these issues rather than trying to run us through the mud on a website. I'm more than happy to provide anyone with a list of references of hunters that have had excellent hunts wish us.
