Hunter Comments

It was 80 degrees and windy the entire week I was there. I couldn't of been happier with the hunt though. When I got there it was clearly evident that the owner Jeff Butler, and his guides knew what they were doing. The majority of the stands had been hung since spring, and there had been absolutely no pressure on any of the farms. The very first night I was there I saw a 160" + buck across the creek but had so many deer around me feeding on the food plot that I couldn't grunt him over. Day 2 was filled with young bucks and action and even though it was still very hot out. On Day 3 I harvested a nice, wide 9 pointer scoring in the 130's at 4:00 in the afternoon!!!! Other than a successful hunt, it was more than clear that Jeff was well liked around town and his lodge was definitely comforting. We shared a lot of laughs, and he made us feel right at home in the lodge. I will be going back next year, and so far the other hunters that have been there after me are already booking hunts with him. I will make sure you keep you updated on next year's hunt.
