This was my second hunt in northern New Mexico with Lee Vigil at Ute Creek Outfitters. Both hunts were great and I took 6X6 bulls on camera for Bowhunter TV on each trip. This year's hunt only took a day and a half when a decent bull walked into the morning sun and bugled from 16 yards, becoming an instant TV star. The food and accommodations were great and since this is a private ranch managed for quality bulls there is some excellent elk hunting opportunity. This isn't a cheap hunt but if you can only go once it's high percentage. Just don't count on going only once! Thanks Lee and Paqi!

It was sunny and warm but bulls were still bugling which was surprising for an early hunt.
