Cerf -Sau

2006 was my 3rd hunt with Cerf Sau. I went previous in 2000 & 2002. The camp owner Guy Lefevre is a stand up guy who make sure all clients have a great time and good hunting. Guy is very professional and handled all aspects very well. Anticosti Island will give you a supurb huntng experience as you will stalk all of your deer where you are allowed to kill 2 animals. You will experience the real escence of hunting because you will get out after them. You can sit in one spot if you like but you will see many more deer by moving around and calling. The deer have large bodies as the winters can be brutal. There was a very bad winter in 2003 (I think) and it killed off many of the deer. It took several years for the herd to rebound. The guides are first rate. The best indication that I can give you that the camp is good is that the guides have all been with Guy for many years. My buddy went there in 1998 and after speaking with Guy this past winter at the Harrisburg, PA Outdoor show- most of the same guides are still there. You will learn much from these guys. They are very good at getting you on a nice buck. I personally have hunted with Norman, Ramon and Kim. Two of my friends were guided with Cristian over the 3 hunts. They are all outstanding and know the woods. They place one guide with 3 hunters and rotate around who the guide goes with. Personally, I love the solitude of being dropped off in the morning and being picked up at dusk at the appointed spot. After one trip you get the hang of what to do and where to look for the deer. The food is UNBELIEVABLE! They bring in cooks and housekeepers that keep the cabin in good order. The food, especially the dinners will blow you away. Everything is home made with a french Canadian flare. I hope to return to Anticosti- Cerf Sau again. This is a great place to take a young hunter (child) and share a great experience.
None to date. If you are the outfitter please email us.
It was cold which is what you want in November. That gets the deer moving up there.
